Results July 3 and 4th

The only thing hotter than the weather was the action on the track at Auto City 4th of July Weekend.  As the fans came out and filled the stands on Saturday with Maximum Destruction and the Outlaw Super Late Models took center stage for the “Firecracker 100″ on Sunday night.{nl}     It was a special event night for the Mt. Morris-Clio Herald Pure Stocks on Saturday night as track record holder Jordan Lechota set fast time with a 16.60.Chad Lamson won the dash while Mike Wines and Nick Lechota took heat race wins. It was a wild 30-lap feature as Scott Beach jumped ahead early.  Six laps later Nick Johnston took over the top spot and held it until lap 18 when he spun out trying to fight off Duane Damon and Jordan Lechota.  Damon took over but 3 laps later Lechota got around the “Pit-bull” and pulled away to take the win and extend his point lead.  Damon, Lamson, Lonnie Saumier, Jr. and Beach rounded out the top 5.
